On a 35-acre regenerative community and retreat center in the Monteverde Cloud Forest region of Northern Costa Rica, this project enhanced the natural topography to sequester and slow down the movement of rainfall and river water to nurture a syntropic agroforestry system that will provide a perennial food source to both residents and visitors of the land for generations. 

This project rewilded and restored a quarter-acre of compacted land into a native wildflower meadow at a Texas Hill Country healing center, serving as a demonstration for ecological recovery after it was a hempcrete construction zone.

A guided land walk and discussion where Marlo, alongside engineer and hydrologist Bill Worsham, expanded upon the foundational permaculture principle of observation with her own unique methodology of listening to the land. 

This seminar brought together Indigenous ecological lessons from medicine woman Yolanda Palomares, permaculture philosophy from Marlo Blythe Weekley, and community collaboration from Bill Worsham to strategize the restoration of a Central Texas watershed. 

Designing and installing a bamboo fence in Central Texas using locally harvested, naturally treated bamboo. This fence installation is built to protect a backyard vegetable and herb garden from dogs and wildlife, while also demonstrating the local bamboo’s effectiveness as a fast-growing, versatile, and sustainable building material.

The UPRI is a multi-site, community-led network of demonstration gardens that teach regenerative urban landscaping inspired by rainforest ecology.

Following unprecedented hurricane damage, FFP led the regenerative restoration of several coastal beach properties in West-Central Florida. Using a resilient blend of xeriscaping, native plants, pollinator gardens, this site demonstrates the wisdom of permaculture in times of climate change. 

For this project, the challenge was in rebranding an established product to attract new audiences, while ensuring that current users feel connected. The results were outstanding.
